COMING EVENTS :

Site Tour :

In June or July of this year the PDC is looking at a 1 day tour at some key Best Practice sites in Brisbane, followed by an early dinner.  Date yet to be confirmed.

The highlight wiil be a tour of the Pepsico Australia (Smiths Snackfoods) Manufacturing and Distribution site in Tingalpa. 

The site employees over 500 FTE’s and occupies an area of over 23 acres.  With 11 production lines producing 32,000 tonnes of finished product per year.  Brands such as Smiths Chips, ………, Doritos, Nobbys and Twisties.  The site has an excellent environmental and safety record including a water collection/recycling system that provides all the site’s water for drinking, production and general use.

The site includes an 8,000 pallet finished goods warehouse with 6 robots.

Consortium Meeting :

The next Performance Drivers Consortium meeting will be held at Knauf Plasterboard Pty Ltd., Matraville on Tuesday, 22nd May 2012.

Knauf Group, a leading plasterboard manufacturer in the world, producing more than 1 billion square metres of plasterboard per year, purchased Lafarge's plasterboard business in Australia on 5 August 2011. The site at Matraville includes manufacturing, warehouse and distribution.

In Australia, Knauf manufactures and distributes plasterboard, compounds, cornice and associated products and systems to the Australian market through its national PlastaMasta distribution network. Knauf has manufacturing facilities in Matraville and Altona.
